Front Door Decor: Bathroom Reno

Today I bring to you another exciting post! I've been wanting to bring this idea to life for a while now but it's been quite the work in progress.  Long story short friends of mine are doing some renovations on their home and they were willing to take me on and let me try this out to help them.

Front Door Decor

The perfect design aid by an interior designer [me] to help today's DIY-er complete their project. Everyone knows DIY's are the new hot thing. Whether it's restoring an old dresser, painting a bedroom and getting some new draperies, or going all the way and taking on a DIY kitchen reno. Or in this case - A full on Bathroom Makeover!

After a few days of constant communication, photos, and a little Q&A... a package will be arriving at their door today. What is in this package you ask? How could myself in North Carolina help my friends renovate their bathroom all the way in Ohio? Well, this package contains a complete budget with extra options, where to shop, renderings, paint samples, and more.

[Disclaimer: these are my preferences. I would most likely choose the chocolate mousse color if it were my personal bathroom] The great part about Front Door Decor is that all of my decisions and preferences are merely options.  I look at them as guidelines to help point the client in the right direction.

  

But it doesn't stop there.  I will be available for any extra questions or help that is needed along the way. Their renovation process has just begun! I am excited to see what they decide and how their new bathroom looks! Stay tuned for an update on this Bathroom Reno!

Color Splash: Winter White

 

Today I am so happy to announce an exiting collaboration with a new friend of mine, Jaime at Sunflowers and Stilettos.  We have been working together to provide you all with something that I hope everyone can relate to [maybe in more ways than one]

So, who doesn't love shopping? Fashion? How about the Home Decor section at Target?  [I know, gets me every time too] Well here it is: The color splash and collaboration where where a specific color or theme can be used in both home decor and fashion!

My Thoughts: White is always a color that everyone loves and you can never go wrong with BUT I feel like everyone is afraid to use it in their homes. [What if it gets dirty... right?] Whatever. That's what bleach is for! I say the more the merrier!

Read Up: 2014

Going into 2014 I have a lot of resolutions... they vary in sizes and level of commitment needed but they all count for something.  One of my blogging resolutions for 2014 is to read more blogs/magazines.  Whether it be learning new things, finding new things, getting ideas and inspiration or just for fun, I'm going to read more! [Reading more books is in that long list too, but thats for my personal resolutions]

So to start this resolution off right, Here are some of my daily reads for 2014. Feel free to join along and read them with me! I promise you won't be disappointed. 

Design + Home Decor

My new favorite websites to read everyday.  I only found domino and adore within the past few months, but they have online magazines you can read for free and they're amazing!

Design Happens: HGTV is my favorite TV show. Hands down. Well, since I'm broke postgrad and can't afford cable.. They have a blog. Yep. Read it. You'll thank me later.

Adore Home: Adore Home Magazine is amazing. They have an online magazine that you can read and a blog. They're style is so fun and current you'll love it.

Domino: Another great online magazine. You have to sign up to see their website but it's worth it. They also post about useful things like... How to Throw a Cocktail Party in Under and Hour.. see, useful right?

Fashion + Lifestyle Blogs

These 3 Blogs are already my go-to reads and let me tell you I'm not going to stop.. I may have an eye for design but fashion is not my expertise. Advice-Taken. Thanks ladies!

Made by Girl: Jen knows her fashion style but she also knows a thing or two about design. Check out her amazing house tour here.

Suburban Faux-Pas: Krystin's sense of fashion is amazing and I wish I could figure out how she does it.  Hopefully on day I'll figure it out.

Life With Emily: Emily could wear a paper bag and make it look good. She's local to NC so I found her blog when I moved to Charlotte and have been reading it ever since.  Her blog is in my "top sites" in safari when I open up a new tab... guilty.

Well, there it is! I actually have a really long list of blogs I follow but these are the ones that I just had to share. Anyone would love them! Any other daily read suggestions I should add to my list?
