White With A Pop

In most cases, you'll find yourself stuck with stark white walls if you are living in an apartment or a rental property. Rental communities and landlords always seem to stick with the basic and bland "builders white" paint colors for every room. Which brings up the age old question... What do you do with the white walls? How do you make them look pretty? Growing up I always wanted crazy colors for my room. Since then, I've learned to love the look of those stark white walls and embrace the bright and blank canvas that comes with such a space. Check out a few different spaces that might inspire you to get creative with those stark white walls!

A few things to think about when trying to bring pops of color into a white space:

• Don't be afraid to mix wood tones & color together
• Don't be afraid to mix multiple colors
• Colorful Artwork is an easy way to bring color into the space
• Add a colorful upholstery piece to brighten up the space
• Textiles such as rugs, curtains or pillows are an easy, fool proof way to bring in color
• Don't be afraid to layer white on white (but don't forget to still add color!)

Orange is the New Black

I'm hoping that today's splash of color will give everyone a little happiness on this Monday Morning. The word is out that the new season of Orange is the New Black is back on Netflix, and for those of you who are out of the loop - It's time to sit down and binge watch to catch up. It's the most addictive new guilty pleasure show of Netflix.

Happy Monday! Tis the season of peonies and I love that they're filling up my instagram newsfeed. Pretty blooms {especially peonies} are a great way to brighten your day! Instead of focusing today's moodboard monday on peonies and fresh blooms, I've decided why not think out of the box and get a little creative? Have you ever wondered what that perfect shade of citrus green was called?  We all know the exact shade I'm talking about - its not too aggressive, but not too dark that it has an awful brown undertone.. Just the perfect shade of lime green. Well, if you never knew the name but loved the color, let me enlighten you.

Am I the only one who thinks that mother nature needs to get her act together? We were so temped with the beautiful sunshine and then she tricked us with this cold front! I know some people even saw snow [yes, in april] I'm not a fan! I'm ready for summer, and keeping in that spirit - today's moodboard monday is all about that bright sunshine!

Mood board: Neutrals

Mood boards are a great way to gather thoughts, ideas, inspiration and more. I personally love creating mood boards and even though Pinterest seems to be one big mood board, I think it would be fun to share something I'm currently loving. It's pretty simple.

You can never go wrong with a neutral color pallet.  And when in doubt - Start with a neutral base and build you're idea or color scheme on top of it!
